ASUM League of Darts 2025/26 Rules & Regulations
A - Game Rules
1 - All Regular League Matches consist of 9 Sets (3 Pairs & 6 Singles)
1.1 - All League K.O. Cup Matches consist of 9 Sets (3 Pairs & 6 Singles) | All 9 Sets must be played (unless both team captains agree otherwise)
1.2 - All Seven Single Cup Matches consist of 7 Sets (7 Singles & Best of 5 Legs)
1.3 - All Tri-Shield Matches will be exclusive to Triples play, with Best of 3 Legs in the 'Divisional Heats', and Best of 5 Legs in the 'Finals'.
1.4 - All Consolation Cup Matches feature the same format as Seven Singles (7 Singles & Best of 5 Legs)
1.5 - All Cup Matches are played on a folded sheet
2 - Pairs is 701, Best of 3 Legs | Singles is 501, Best of 3 Legs (5 Legs - Asparagus)
3 - In League Matches, whoever is the home team will be marking all sets played using either a marker board or electronic scoreboard
3.1 - In Cup Matches, up until the Semi-Finals in all competitions the home team will mark all sets played.
3.11 - From the Semi-Finals onwards, it will be alternate marking. Whoever is assigned the 'Home Team' in the tie will mark first.
3.2 - Automated scoring software (Scolia, OMNI, Gran Eye etc.) is permitted as long as both a marker & caller are active during play.
3.21 - Automated scoring software is prohibited during cup matches unless granted permission by the Committee beforehand.
5 - Seven Singles is an open cup for all teams to enter, with all losing teams from the preliminary round(s) dropping down to ‘Consolation Cup’.
5.1 - Prelim. Round 1 will consist of all 10 teams from Crown
5.2 - Prelim. Round 2 will have 9 teams from Bell Tower, plus 5 winning sides from Prelim. Round 1
5.3 - Round of 16 will feature all 8 Asparagus teams & the highest ranked relegated team from Asparagus last season, plus 7 winning teams from Prelim. Round 2
5 - Consolation Cup will feature 12 losing teams from both Prelim. Rounds in the Seven Singles.
5.1 - There will be an extra preliminary round, with 8 teams playing to qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
5.2 - The last four teams standing in the Prelim. Round draw will directly enter to the Quarter-Finals.
6 - Bust rule is in effect at all times
7 - Each game starts with the away team throwing first in the bull-off to decide who starts the specified game first. (Coin toss for a match held in a neutral venue)
7.1 - If any set/game goes to a deciding leg, whoever won the bull-off to start the game will throw first in the final leg.
7.2 - Whoever throws for the bull in a Pairs or Triples must start first in order for their respective teams
B - League Rules
8 - In League format, each team is awarded the following after each match: Win = 2 Points | Loss = 0 Points
8.1 - If 2 or more teams are level by the end of the League Season, the following tiebreakers will determine each of the teams' rankings:
8.2 - Set Difference
8.3 - Head-to-Head Points
8.4 - Head-to-Head Set Difference
8.5 - Singles Sets Won
8.6 - Pairs Sets Won
8.7 - Neutral venue play-off (to determine Champion, Runner-Up, Promotion &/or Relegation, otherwise draw)
9 - Promotion & Relegation
9.1 - Asparagus: Bottom 2 teams get relegated to Bell Tower at the end of the league season
9.2 - Bell Tower: Top 2 teams get promoted to Asparagus | Bottom 2 teams get relegated to Crown at the end of the league season
9.3 - Crown: Top 2 teams get promoted to Bell Tower at the end of the league season | No relegation
9.4 - If any new teams enter a new season which could affect the league structure, adjustments could be made regarding the amount of promoted/relegated teams from the previous season to reflect on the updated league format
9.41 - New teams that successfully join the league will automatically be placed in the lowest division (Crown).
10 - All Match Sheets supplied to every team must have a photo taken of the full result of every match they play during the course of the season (featuring full names, all game results, all 180s, 100+ Checkouts & final score). Photos of each match sheet must be applied to the 'ASUM League of Darts' Facebook Page either on the night or by Sunday
11 - All players in each team are limited to play a maximum of 2 Games (1 Singles & 1 Pairs)
11.1 - If a team does not have enough players to fill in a Singles &/or Pairs Set, the specified set(s) need to be marked with a slash on the row in the match sheet & the opponent gets awarded the set.
12 - All League & Cup Matches are scheduled to start at 20:00 (8:00pm)
13 - All League SIngles, Pairs, Tri-Shield, U-23 & Open Singles Tournaments are scheduled to start at 20:00 (8:00pm).
13.1 - All Singles & Pairs Finals will be played to a conclusion on the same night.
13.2 - Open Singles will be played up until the Quarter-Final stage, and the remainder of the event will be played on Presentation Night,
14 - In all Cup Matches, first team drawn in each tie will play at home, up until the Semi-Finals where the venues will be drawn at random using a wheel.
14.1 - If there’s a case of two or more teams drawn at home who share the same venue, the home team drawn in an earlier tie will gain priority and the home side in the later tie will have their fixture reversed, playing away to their respective opponent.
15 - All venues should require a match board, with a raised oche & adequate lighting suited for competition.
16 - Entry fee for all teams is £50 + a £20 Bond which can cover any fine(s) not initially paid. The Bond will be returned at the end of the season pending reductions, or carried over to next season
17 - All Matches in the League Season have to be fulfilled. Any matches that were unable to be played during the regular league season will result in a 10-0 scoreline against the team that was deemed to have caused the cancellation of the match.
18.1 - If it was deemed both teams caused the cancellation of a match, the match will be declared null & void, with the match recorded at 0-0 and no points awarded.
18.2 - If a match was postponed due to force majeure & couldn't be played before the end of the season, the teams in question will be given permission to play their match after the regular league season has ended.
18.3 - Teams are advised to let their opponents know if a fixture cannot take place at least 24 hours beforehand via the 'ASUM League of Darts' Facebook Page & the Captain(s) or venue must be notified. Failure to do so will result in a £10 fine
18.4 - If any team(s) have a minimum of 3 of their matches cancelled, their 'priority entry' key for next season will be revoked
19 - Any individual(s) or team(s) involved with unsportsmanlike, verbal abuse &/or violent conduct could be warned, suspended or banned from participating in the league
20.1 - Issues &/or complaints regarding the League must be brought forward to members of the League Committee. Posting anything regarding said issues is prohibited on the Facebook Page.
20.2 - Each reported incident will be brought up for review by the Committee members
21 - All teams are required to have at least one representative at the AGM. Any team(s) that fail to attend (with exception to prior notice &/or exceptional circumstances) possibly face exclusion from next season if there are reserve teams waiting to join the league
21.1 - All teams are required to have at least one representative at the annual Presentation Night. Any team(s) that fail to do so will result in automatically losing their £20 bond
C - Team Rules
22 - There's a maximum of 12 Players that can be signed per team, each requiring a nominated captain.
23 - Deadline application for new teams to join the league is on the day of the annual pre-season AGM meeting.
24 - The deadline for registering players into teams during the current season will be on a date specified in the League Schedule.
24.1 - A player may be able to sign on after the deadline, only under special dispensation if required due to an emergency or similar reasons. £10 Transfer Fee is required if this occurs & the Committee must be notified in advance of said signing(s)
25 - Once a player has played a minimum of 3 matches for a team, he/she cannot register for another side and would require authorisation from the Committee if they wish to transfer to another team. A £10 fee is required if the transfer is approved.
25.1 - If a player successfully transfers to another team with permission from the Committee, he/she is 'Cup Tied' for the remainder of the season.
26 - All teams are responsible for returning the cups by the end of the regular season.
26.1 - Any teams &/or players that have failed to return their cups will have their team bond removed with immediate effect.
